Tip of the Day: Erasing Rain Stains

April is almost here and that means rain showers! If you should happen to get caught unprepared here are some ways Good Housekeeping magazine suggests to get rid of rain stains: On silk or wool use your iron on the highest steam setting held 2" away from the water marks and allow the steam to penetrate the fabric. For leather, pat dry and then stuff bags, shoes, boots, etc with crumbled newspaper and let dry away from direct heat. Then polish as usual. If you get suede muddy DO NOT scrape away fresh mud! Let it dry completely and then whisk off the clumps with a soft brush. Any dark spots can be rubbed out with a kneadable eraser. To lift the matted nap, gently buff with a fine-grit emery board.
