Tip of the Day: Camera Splashed?

Monday, August 8, 2011 ·

While trying to get that Summer memory your digital camera got soaked by a huge splash! First of all, remove the battery. Dry both the battery and camera well. Put both in a Ziploc bag and ideally if you happen to have a few of those silica gel packets with you (the ones that come inside shoes and electronic boxes, who would have those on the beach?) anyway, dry rice works well too (did you bring that along with you?). The main idea is to dry the camera and battery and seal them in the bag with the rice or silica immediately when you get home. Do NOT use your camera until it is completely dry.
